B/1 Work Visas for Foreign Experts in Israel

Legal planning from the employer permit through the visa, entry and authorised start of work

Moving a manager, engineer, installer or specialist to Israel is a regulated employment and immigration process—not simply a travel booking. Ayyat & Co. assists employers in selecting the route, presenting the business need and expertise, coordinating foreign documents and completing the permit and B/1 stages under the current procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Can the expert work in Israel as a tourist?

No. Visitor status does not authorise employment. The employing entity and candidate should complete the applicable permit and B/1 stages before work begins.

Who starts the application?

Under the general foreign-expert route, the Israeli employer ordinarily applies for permission to employ the named expert. The visa, entry and residence-and-work licence stages follow according to the current procedure.

Does a senior job title prove expert status?

Not by itself. The application should connect qualifications, experience and specialist knowledge to a defined Israeli assignment and a genuine business need.

Is there a faster route for a short assignment?

Specific short-term or sector routes may exist, but nationality, task, duration and eligibility must be checked before travel. A short project does not automatically permit work as a visitor.

Can family members accompany the expert?

Possibilities and restrictions depend on the route and current procedure. Accompanying-family planning should be reviewed at the outset rather than after the expert's application is filed.

Can you guarantee the proposed start date?

No. Authority review, document requests, consular steps and entry arrangements are outside a lawyer's control. A realistic plan should include document and processing contingencies.

Permit, visa, travel and employment must follow one sequence

Planning to bring a foreign expert to Israel?

Send the employer, candidate, role, project location and desired period. The office will first assess the likely route, document burden, conflicts and whether the proposed timeline is realistic.
